Standard Container Sizes
While containers come in a variety of sizes, for the majority of your needs, you will need either the smaller 20′ container — which is a great solution for limited spaces, or the larger 40′ container that holds a considerable array of inventory and other valuable products. Due to the availability of these 2 size options, their pricing is well-aligned to all portable storage needs. If you have constraints due to the size of your location, there are additional container sizes available.
20′ Container
The most convenient for small storage situations — 20′ in length, fits into tight locations yet still provides ample storage.

The most common container size and the best value, these containers provide great storage volume and are certainly the most cost-effective solution.

Container extensions represent additional options and characteristics available for container storage, including Hi Cube and Double Door options. The following sections provide additional information on extension options.
Hi Cube
These are containers that are 1′ taller than standard standard containers.
A standard container is 8’6″ tall—which is suitable for most needs. However, in certain situations, you may need a little more height. This is where the Hi Cube comes in. These are a slightly harder to source, hence, a slight upcharge, but for your oversized items that need protection, this option is definitely worth the extra expense.

Double Doors
Simply put, this is a container that is accessible from both ends. Doors at the front and rear. This serves 2 specific purposes, great for roll-on and roll-off situations, such as for vehicle storage or inventory that is organized as first in, first out. This option definitely saves organizational time without having to rearrange a complete container just to access your items.
The uses for Double Doors are endless! See photos for examples.

Wind & Water Tight (WWT)
A common term in the industry that classifies the usage criteria for a container. As this term would indicate, a container is considered Wind and Water Tight if it is sealed to the point where no water nor “real wind” can get inside. Naturally, air will permeate the container, however, no holes that permit the direct flow of air.
All containers employed by Graystone are considered WWT – we pay more for these containers, but you can rest assured that we have done our due diligence to ensure you have the best product protecting your inventory.
